Mangaluru: First phase of Pulse Polio drive inaugurated

Mangaluru, Jan 17, 2016: DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the first phase of Pulse Polio programme at the Lady Goschen Hospital in the city on January 17, Sunday. The Minister also administered Polio drops to infants at the hospital.

In his address, Rai called upon all parents of children below five years to compulsorily bring their kids to the centres to immunize them against polio. The Minister on this occasion stressed the need for effective measures to eradicate several other contagious diseases including diphtheria.

A.B. Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Jacintha Vijay Alfred, Mayor, Dr Rajeshwari, District Medical Officer, Dr Ramakrishna, District Health Officer, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP and others were present.

ZP CEO Shreevidya also brought her child to the hospital for administration of polio drops.
