Mangaluru July 07, 2016: Deputy Superintendent of Police ends life by hanging himself  from ceiling fan at Vinayak lodge in Madikeri on July 07, Thursday.


M K Ganapathi_...M K Ganapathy is the deceased person. He was former DySP in IGP Office, Managluru. He was 51 years, resident of Kodagu.


He began his career in 1991 as Sub Inspector in Mangaluru, later in Bantwal and Puttur stations. He had also served as Inspector in Kadri Station during 2008 church attacks.

 

Sources said that Mr.Ganapathy went to Madikeri from Mangaluru on Thursday and rented a room in Vinayak lodge. Before committing suicide, he  left behind a suicide note. The receptionist of the lodge said that he came there alone in the morning and had not come out till afternoon. The incident came to light later in the evening when police personnel visited the lodge. He was found hanging from the fan and was in uniform at the time of death.


In a death note, Ganapathy said to have mentioned the names of former Home Mnister K J George, ADGP A M Prasad and IGP Pronab Mohanty, saying they were responsible for his death.


He is survived by wife and two sons. Investigations are underway.


Earlier, he had talked to a local TV channel and blamed senior Police officials.
