Mangaluru, June 03, 2015:  Reports say that one Dr Titu Zachariah, who works in a private hospital in Deralakatte, was allegedly attacked by a group on June 1  Monday late evening.  It is reported that four strangers attacked the doctor with large stones.  Dr Zachariah has indicated  that  Malayalam was spoken by the culprits.

rubbed One version reported is that  Dr Zachariah was at Sagar Bar and Restaurant in Kuthar, 4 or 5 persons spoke to him cordially and offered to drop him at his residence in their vehicles.

Dr Zachariah was soon taken a deserted spot near the hospital at Deralakatte which is secluded. One of the men took away his mobile phone.  The Doctor was then hit by an heavy object and threatened. His purse with some Rs 1000 plus money and other valuables like  ATM/credit cards, ID cards;   his gold chain was also taken away.  The injured and terrorised doctor managed to escape and reported a  hospital in the area.   Ullal police station has booked a case on  June 2 and are investigating. The secluded areas are proving to be convenient place for such terrorism and caution is advised.
