Mangaluru Nov 14, 2016: District Congress Committee celebrated the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at Congress office on Monday November 14th. Congress leaders paid floral tribute to the portrait of Jawaharlal Nehru.
Speaking on the occasion District Congress Interim President Ibrahim Kodijaal said that Jawaharlal Nehru was well focused in the development of the nation and introduced five year plan which laid strong foundation for the modern India. Opposition are keeping on questioning what Congress has done in the past 60 years and Congress workers need to refute the question, he added.
He also said that a mega convention to mark the 100th birth anniversary of late prime minister Indira Gandhi will be held on November 19th at Nehru Maidan.
Congress has fulfilled 85% of promises as per the manifesto and is confident to dominate the forthcoming elections, he added.
