Mangaluru July 22, 2016: Lions Governor for the year 2015-16 Kavitha Shashtri inaugurated Craft of India two day expo cum sale by unfluring the pingara at Roshni Nilaya on July 22, Friday. This Craft of India expo is jointly organised by Socio-Economic forum, Inchara Foundation and Gudi.
Speaking on the occasion Kavitha Shashtri said that India has always lagged behind in supporting the artisans and that many were still unaware about the richness of the country. Credit goes to the organisers for creating exposure for such artisans, she urged everyone to involve in conserving cultural richness of the country.
She released an in-house journal "Mirror Within" which is a venture of Socio-Economic Forum of Roshni Nilaya.
The exhibition will be open from 9:30 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday. There will be special attractions such as live demo from artisans, terracotta jewellery, Dokra crafts, Handlooms, traditional food, display of crafts from various states, live folk performances and much more.
Principal of the College Sophia Fernandes, Director of Inchara Foundation Preetham Rodrigues, Farida Goveas and Malini Mukund were present.
