Mangaluru : Congress stages protest against suspension of Smart City works

Mangaluru, Jan 12, 2021: The Congress Party staged a protest in front of the MCC building at Lalbagh on January 12, Tuesday to condemn the suspension of all the Smart City Works initiated at various places in the City Corporation limits.

Addressing the protestors, senior party leader and former minister B Ramanatha Rai said the ruling dispensation in the city has completely failed in effectively implementing the Smart City Project.

Opposition leader Abdul Ravoof who also spoke, said the MCC had failed to take the people of the city into confidence before embarking upon Smart City projects.

MLC and District Congress President Harish Kumar, District Youth Congress Chief Mithun Rai, former MLA J R Lobo, former MUDA Chief Suresh Ballal, District Mahila Congress President Shalet Pinto, former mayors Harinath, Jacintha Alfred, Corporators Shashidhar Hegde, Naveen D’Souza and others were present.
