Mangaluru 8 Oct 2015: The health Department of Central Government and the aim of the programme were to vaccinate the children below two years and pregnant woman against Diptheria, Measeles, Polio, etc to make a disease free India in 2020. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inugaurated, the programme Mission Indradhanush II, at Lady Goshen Hospital on Wednesday, 7 October.
The programme focused to identify those who are been left out from regular vaccination says the District Health officer of Ramakrishna Mission.The First phase of the programme was implemented between April and July in Bengaluru Urban, Yadgir, Koppal, Raichur , Bellari and Kalburgi Districts. TT to the pregnant woman Children below 2 years were given the vaccination against Polio, Influenza-B, Hepatitis-B, Hemophilia and Measles. The vaccination centres of Indradhanush are opened at PHC’s. The district has achieved 86 percent vaccination. The programme will be carried on October 9, 10,13,14,16 and 17 in the district in first round.
MLC Ivan D’Souza, ZP President Asha ThimmappaGowda, Deputy Commisioner AB Ibrahim, ZP CEO Shrividhya, ZP Health and Standing Committee President Chandrakala, District Surgeon Dr.Rajeshwari Devi HR and the others were present.
