Mangaluru : CCB cops arrest ganja supplier; seize 8 kg contraband

Mangaluru, Nov 29, 2016 :  In a major breakthrough, the CCB Police have arrested a man from Kumble who is suspected to be a  big supplier of ganja to the district. The arrest was made on November 28, Monday and the accused has been identified as  Ibrahim (38). Police have also seized 8 kg of ganja apart from Rs 2.01 lakh cash from him.

Acting on a tip off, the police apprehended Ibrahim in front of a hotel near Pumpwell Circle when he was trying to  transport  ganja to Puttur and  Sullia. Police sources said he had procured the ganja from Vishakapatnam.

It has been gathered that he was once arrested earlier in 2014. Though he was released on bail,  later an arrest warrant was issued after  he failed to appear before the court.

The accused has been handed over to Kankanady police for  further interrogation. The operation was led by CCB Inspector Sunil Y Nayak.
