Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2017: BJP workers in Mangaluru staged protest on October 27, Friday demanding resignation of Karnataka Minister K J George, after he was named by the CBI in an FIR in the case of mysterious death of Deputy Superintendent of Police M K Ganapathy.
Speaking on the occasion, Sathyajit Suratkal, president of BJP backward classes wing said, DySP Ganapathy was found dead at Madikeri on July 7 last year, hanging from the ceiling of a lodge in Kodagu district. Before his death, Ganapathy had blamed George and two senior police officers for harassing him and had made these claims in a TV interview. Besides George, who is currently Karnataka Minister for Bengaluru Development and Town Planning in the state, former IGP (Lokayukta) Pranov Mohanty and ex-ADG of police (state intelligence) A M Prasad have been named in the FIR. Since the CBI has named George as the first accused in the case demand his resignation immediately, he said
BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Mijar, Satyajith Suratkal ,Vedavyas Kamath, Monappa Bhandary, Dr Bharat, Randeep, Namdan Malta, Rajani Dugganna and others were also present.
