Mangaluru : An accident at Nanthoor yet again?

Mangaluru, April 22, 2015: Nanthoor Circle is again in the news! just 45 days after the last horrible accident came another road accident on April 21. Four persons were injured when a city bus and a fish lorry collided at the circle.

According to the police, the bus was plying from Kulashekar to Kadri while the lorry was heading from Udupi to Pumpwell. The four injured, Abdul Rehman, a worker, his daughter, Lalith (45), a native of Gurupura, and Bartan Monterio (50), an employee of the Port.

A case has been registered at Mangaluru East Traffic Police station against Kalandar Shafi, bus driver, accusing him of rash and negligent driving. It may be recalled five persons died and nearly 20 persons have been injured many are still undergoing treatment for grievous injury, in four accidents reported. Hopefully the authorities concerned will not further delay remedial action.
