Mangaluru, April 15, 2015:  DK  District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai,  addressed  the 124th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr B R Ambedkar organised by district administration, zilla panchayat, MCC and Social welfare department on April 14, Tuesday.  He stressed,  aspirations of Ambedkar to eliminate inequality in society was not yet fruitful mainly due to differences in our action and speech. A stable  society by eliminating inequality and untruth is essential. There is a big chasm between action and  spirit. Truth is the main casualty .

Ambedkar Bhavan is progressing inspite of some legal hurdles. avan.  Judiciary is resolving the matter and chief minister is looking into it. After clearances,  Ambedkar Bhavan will be constructed on the land specified.  MLA J R Lobo said education and equality will help in development of backward classes.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said Ambedkar speaking to the gathering said that the constitution was constituted not only keeping plight of one community in view but the welfare of entire society and his views are valid eben today. Ahievers in various fields were honoured - they are: Angara, Sundari Prakash, Lakshman, Balakrishna Kathalsar, Uthamkumar and Korpolu.   Beneficiaries from SC/ST communities of Ambedkar Development Corporation, ITDP and fisheries department were given five autorickshaws, four omni vans and three goods vehicles.   Ambedkar Jayanthi  was marked at MCC.
