Mangaluru : 11 arrested for hatching plan to rob jeweller

Mangaluru, Nov 14, 2018: A police team led by the Mangaluru Rural Inspector Sidda Gowda Bajantri and the Anti-Rowdy Squad has succeeded in arresting as many as 11 persons on the charges of hatching a plot to loot a jewellery store owner.

arrest. It has been gathered that the accused had planned to rob the jeweller at Pachanady. Police have seized a Maruti 800 car, a Maruti Ritz, fake number plates, iron rods and other weapons apart from a cash of Rs 16,050.

Those arrested are Sheikh Mohammad Ansar (34), Mohammed Ali (25), Ahmed Kabir (30), Asgar Ali (27), Rameez (21), Mohammed Tauseef alias Tachu (24), Amir Ali (19), Mohammed Tauseef (25), Ubedulla (25), Sabith (19) and Mohammed Sabad (22).

The accused have reportedly revealed during interrogation that they had planned to rob a jeweller from Carstreet named Santosh.
