Arist Dinesh Holla said that the team of artists had earlier decided to organize “Kuncha Kahale,” an art camp and signature campaign in protest against the adverse effects of MSEZ on the ecology of the district. However, with due respect to the victims of the plane crash, “Kuncha Kahale” has been postponed to May 28, Friday.

Harikrishna Punaroor, the former president of Kannada Sahithya Parishad, inaugurated the canvas and said that DK has witnessed the height of irresponsibility on the part of the authorities when they demolished a farm house surrounded by fertile land and acquired it for industrial purposes. Punaroor said that the artists will organize a symbolic protest against the atrocities meted out to Gregory Patrao, warning that if no one protests, the atrocities will continue.

Forty artists strove to create awareness of the harsh realities of life among the general public by staging a unique demonstration of the evils of unplanned development. The public can witness this demonstration till 6 p.m., said Punaroor.

Artists such as Ganesh Somayaji, G. Kandhan, Santhosh Andrade, Rajendra Kediga, Sapna Noronha, Ravi, Wilson, Vishwas, William Pais, Shwetha, and Poornesh participated in this protest event.
