Speaking on the occasion MLC Ivan D’Souza said "All teachers can play an important role in preventing and pacifying communal clashes in all areas.  It would be better if the DC  calls in teachers for emergency meetings in such situations along with the police and the politicians, in time of  such communal outbreaks, those who are involved in disturbance  do not listen to the police or the politicians, but they will certainly listen to the teachers who have a place in their past ."

In his address, J R Lobo, MLA mentioned that, “India cannot not become developed nation with agriculture alone. A better human resource is an important factor. For this, education is essential and all teachers have a major role,"
