Mangalore : Special kids descend on streets for torch run of Saanidhya Panama sports fest

 Mangalore, Feb 22, 2013  : The three-day Saanidhya Panama Kreeda Mahotsava-2013 kickstarted with a torch run from Sri Gokarnanatha  Temple premises to Mangala Stadium on February 21, Thursday.

The three-day event is jointly organised by Panama Corporation Ltd, Mangalore and Bangalore Sports and Cultural Academy for Differently-abled, to mark the decennial celebrations of Saanidhya Residential School and Training Center for Differently-abled.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hundreds of colorfully dressed differently abled children, enthusiastically participated in the run  which was flagged off by senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari.

Speaking on the occasion, Poojari said the society should shower love on the special children and  added it was the duty of each and every responsible citizen to  help these blooming talents come up in life. Poojari also had a word of praise for the concerted efforts made by Saanidhya towards the overall development of special kids.

HS Sairam, President of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple,  Rakesh Malli, President of Bangalore Sports and Cultural Academy for Differently-abled and  Dr B G Suvarna were the chief guests.

Mahabala Marla, President of Saanidhya, Vasanth Kumar Shetty,Administrator, Jagadish Shetty, Convener, Devadatta Rao, Nanda Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
