Mangalore One center offering Govt and private services launched

Mangalore, June 9: The Mangalore One Project, implemented to offer services along the one-stop shop lines, was inaugurated by Krishna J. Palemar, the district-in-charge minister at Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) on June 9, Wednesday. Explaining the project, Palemar said that a number of private as well as government services will offer their services under one umbrella. 

 

 

Minister for Urban Development Suresh Kumar said that Mangalore is the third city he is visiting for the inauguration of such centres. He urged Mangalore to occupy the first rank in providing the service. Referring to a conference on good governance he had attended in Mumbai, he said that even Mangalore should go in for better governance. He appreciated Mangalore for becoming the centre of attraction in Karnataka. 

Secretary of e-Governance M. M. Vidyashankar said that the service of e-governance, which commenced as Bangalore One, Mysore One, and Tumkur One, has finally reached Mangalore as Mangalore One. 

A sum of Rs 85 lakhs will be invested into the Mangalore One Project, which will start offering services such as electricity bill payment, Cellone mobile bill payment, sale of passport applications, and so on from the day of its inauguration. 

Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, the commissioner of MCC, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Ravindran proposed the vote of thanks. MLA Yogish Bhat presided over the programme. State Home Minister Dr. V. S. Acharya, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mayor Rajani Dugganna, Deputy Mayor Rajendra Kumar, and DC V. Ponnuraj were present on the occasion.
