Mangalore: Eight students arrested for group clash at University College

Mangalore, Sep 20, 2014: Following a group clash in Government college, Mangalore, eight students were arrested and one was hospitalized on Saturday September 20.

Clashes erupt at University College

It is learned that the clash between two groups of students happened following allegation of eye teasing and irritating female students in the college. However, the real reason for the clash is still unknown. Students identified as Chetan, Asfad, Riyaz and Diyaz are said to have started the unfortunate incident.

A student identified as Deekshith was seriously injured in the clash and is admitted to Wentlok Hospital, Mangalore. The student groups filed complaints at Pandeshwar Police station against each other. The police arrested eight persons following the complaints.

Some of the students involved in the clash were identified as Asfad, Riyaz, Diyaz and Chetan, said sources. The students have misbehaved with the media persons who have come to cover the incident.
