Mangalore: Bendur Parish holds muhurat of religious Konkani play ’Sipoy Saant’

Mangalore, Feb 21, 2013 : The  Religious Konkani play "Sipoy Saant", was  inaugurated at a function held at the Bendur Parish Hall on February 20, Wednesday. Rohan Monteiro, Proprietor of Rohan Corporation and Fr Antony Serrao, Parish Priest of Bendur Church, inaugurated the play by lighting the traditional lamp.

 

 

 

Claude D’Souza, author of ’Sipoy Saant’ handed over the script to the director of the play Adolphus Cutinho (Dolla).

Speaking on the occasion, Adolphus said  the drama which was performed in three stages 25 years ago, will be  performed in 7 stages with 50 artistes. He sought the co-operation of all  artistes and the organizers for the success of the play.

 
Fr Antony Serrao  who also spoke, said the main aim of the play was to bring back the memories of our Saint and the life he lived. The play will boost the spirit of the parishioners and strengthen their faith, he observed.. 

 
 In his address, Rohan Monteiro said the Konkani play ’Sipoy Saant ’ will enlighten the faithful and will also bring back the old memories of Saint Sebastian and fill them with new spirit.Monteiro assured his whole hearted support towards this good cause.
