Mangalore, Sep 26, 2014 : Uma M G, principal district and sessions judge inaugurated the Mangalore Bar Association’s new office at the new district court complex at Court Hill on Thursday September 25.
The Judge said that he association born in 1881 was 133 years old; From several years the lawyers did not have reasonable facilities and premises but performed their work with commitment.
"I must salute women lawyers here who suffered most due to lack of facilities. I am now glad to see there is a special room for women advocates. The bigger challenge of constructing Mangalore Bar Association’s own building lies ahead, and I hope it will happen without more delay."
DK DC A B Ibrahim said that this Bar Association has produced a number of well known reputed advocates for the country. The new premises will be better for the lawyers to enhance their quality of work and life. The government is ready to help in projects that would help to improve the quality of the Mangalore Bar Association for the future.
B B Ravindranath Rai, vice-chairman of Karnataka Bar Council, MLC Ivan D’souza (a lawyer him self), Mangalore Bar Association president P Ashok Arigam, general secretary B Vittal Rai and members of Mangalore Bar Association were present on this occasion along with many well wishers present.
