April 21, 2015: The Crime Prevention & Detection Squad, Railway Protection Force of Palakkad Division seized a massive amount of unaccounted currency notes from a train passenger. Two RPF constables found this passenger in suspicious circumstances travelling in the S-8 coach of Train No.22637 Chennai Central – Mangaluru Central West Coast Express on 21st April 2015, as the train was running between Vadakara and Thalassery stations in the early morning hours. A thorough search of his luggage revealed bundles of currency notes worth Rs.8 Lakhs, without proper accounting.

 

The person, who was later identified as Shri Sandeep Singh, aged 25 years, a native of Gaya District of Bihar, and the seized money have been handed over to the Income Tax Office at Kannur for further course of action as per the directions of the Divisional Security Commissioner, Palakkad.
