Kundapur, Mar 12, 2019:  A man who was moving around  on the road in an erratic manner and even came in the way of the vehicles of Udupi Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati and District Superintendent of Police Nisha James while the two were on way to Kundapur from Udupi on Monday late evening, was detained  and  taken to the Kota Police Station.

The DC and SP were travelling in their respective vehicles when the incident took place. The man in question has been identified as Guddeyangady resident Premananda (55). When questioned he has given vague replies to the police that he had come  from a hospital and did not know where to go after getting down at Thekkatte. He also said he wanted to go to Guddeyangady.

Sources said he had tried to cross the road all of a sudden in front of the vehicles of the SP and DC  forcing the vehicles to come to a sudden stop. He was later taken to the station at the behest of the two officials.
