Udupi,July 31, 2015:  The body of 22 year old Shivakumar who had reportedly drowned in Malpe beach on July 29, Wednesday evening, was retrieved on July 30, Thursday. The body was found floating in the sea close by  the Malpe Bhajana Mandir.

Shivakumar of Haveri, along with 15 friends had visited Malpe beach on Wednesday evening. All the youngsters had ventured into the waters for a swim when a mighty wave washed away Shivakumar. It is said they had earlier ignored a warning from a Lifeguard who was present there.

The body was handed over to Shivakumar’s family after a post-mortem at the Government Hospital in Udupi.
