Madikeri, Sep 15, 2016: Virajpete police have arrested a seven member gang of inter-state robbers who were wanted in connection with a case of robbing a person of Rs 38 lakh cash by assaulting him at Nalkeri Junction on August 16 midnight. Police have recovered Rs 29.73 lakhs, a Wagon R, Xylo car and two Pulsar bikes from them.
It is said that a gang of 16 which had followed the Innova car in which Asif was travelling towards Kerala on August 16 had intercepted the car at Nalkeri Junction. Two others in the car were also assaulted with iron rods.
Search is on for the other eight thieves. The Virajpete DySP had formed three teams to nab the culprits.
