Teachers constituency candidate K K Manjunath and Graduate constituency candidate S P Dinesh urged voters to vote for them as they are the people who would raise their voice for the demands of the respective voters.

Manjunath was defeated with minimal votes during the previous elections. He said there are better hopes and it is acknowledged during his tour to address voters.

Congress has worked to solve the problems of teachers and is successful in recruiting teachers. The former BJP government failed to address the grievances of the public including revision of wages. Congress government is also responsible for generating 4.5 lakh employments in various companies by organising the global investor’s meet for graduates.

He alleged that BJP is following unethical ways by fielding several candidates, which would cause vote division. There are 42 departments and only the education department has the opportunity to have a representative in Vidhana Parishad.

Manjunath added that the state government has earmarked Rs 359 crore for solving the problems of wages of aided school teachers. He demanded that unaided schools should be brought under the umbrella of aided schools. The minimum wages for the degree college guest lectures should be Rs 40,000, he said.
