Mangaluru, June 3, 2018: Mangaluru City South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that he has directed the MCC commissioner to verify the faulty and unscientific water bills issued to the consumers in Mangaluru City Corporation limits.
Speaking after receiving grievances, he said that there are complaints on unscientific water bills being issued to households.” A few complainants have shown me the bills as well. There is a difference in the present and past bills issued to these households.”
The commissioner, in turn, has promised to initiate measures to rectify the mistakes within two days. “The problem is not faced by one or two households. A majority are facing similar problems. A few have received Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 as water bill for a month,” he said.
College development: The legislator promised to constitute Staff Council Committee for the development of government pre-university colleges and first-grade colleges in the constituency.
The college heads and education department officials met him on June 2, Saturday. He said efforts should be made to convert government pre-university colleges and first-grade colleges into model colleges in the constituency.
Rain victims appealed to the legislator to provide relief at the earliest. The legislator, in turn, directed the MCC and district administration to provide immediate relief.
A delegation led by auto drivers and owners alleged that rules are violated in the city, in the name of the issue of permits for autos.
The legislator also received applications seeking employment, repair of roads, and underground drainage, among other facilities.
