MCC team visits slaughter houses, meat stalls ; warns action against any illegality

Mangaluru,Oct 14, 2020:    A Mangaluru City Corporation team led by Mayor Diwaker Pandeshwar  paid a surprise visit to slaughter houses and meat stalls in  the MCC limits on October 14,  Wednesday  following complaints from public that  beef was mixed with mutton. The visit also followed  the recent incidents of cattle trafficking in the city.

The MCC team visited the  Urwa Market and other places and inspected the mutton stalls and warned sellers against unauhroised sale of meat and said license would be cancelled in such cases.

The Mayor also told the  stalls and slaughter house  owners to mandatorily have seal failing which action would be taken.

Standing Committee Presidents Poornima, Kiran Kumar, Corporator Sudhir Shetty and MCC officials were present.
