The deceased is Krishna Vasudev Naika. Although he was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore with multiple injuries, he could not be saved.

A government bus bound to Mangalore from Gadag dashed into a mini lorry taking fish from Mangalore to Malpe. The accident was so intense that the front part of the lorry is completely damaged and the driver has lost his legs.

The four-lane construction work is in progress in the area, and the two vehicles, which were supposed to slow down, were moving at high speed. This is believed to have caused the accident.

All the six people who were travelling in the bus were injured and have been admitted to private hospitals in Mangalore and Suratkal.

There was a traffic block for a long time after the accident. The damaged vehicles were removed with the help of a crane.

The Mulky police have registered a case.
