Lokayukta police uncover illegal assets of Forest official in Puttur

Puttur, June 12, 2015 :The Lokayukta police on Thursday raided the houses and other properties of eight government officials across six districts.

The police raided the house of range forest office M Balakrishna Acharya at Bolwarbail Urlandi at Early morning 5.45 am.

The team led by SP HD Mendonsa. The team also raided at his office premises which is located at Sampaje, where he is serving under the jurisdiction of Kodagu range.

His House ’Gokula’ which was raided is built on 10-Cents Land, the value of the house is believed to be 1 Crore.

The team found 200 gms gold, Rs. 3.70 lakh in cash, investment certificates, records of sites, Maruthi Suzuki WagonR car, a two wheeler and other documents. His passbook of four bank account was seized for Verification.

The raids were conducted after cases were registered against the officials under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
