Mangaluru, June 20, 2021: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has extended Covid-19 lockdown till July 5 with relaxations. Deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra on Sunday announced that beginning from Monday June 21, shops selling essential items will remain open from 7 am to 1 pm.

The Deputy commissioner announced the new guidelines urging citizens to follow Covid protocols strictly and not to venture out of their homes unnecessarily.



All shops selling essential items such as groceries, meat, dairy products and food items will only be allowed to open during the lockdown relaxation period on weekdays along with independent liquor shops. Cement, steel and construction industry will be allowed to function provided Covid protocols are strictly followed.

The weekend curfew will be from 7 pm on Friday till 7 am on Monday and night curfew will be remained throughout the week from 7 pm to 7 am.

Manufacturing units, industrial establishments and factories can function with 50 percent staff capacity while textile manufacturing is allowed with 30 percent staff.

Taxis and autorickshaws can seat only two passengers. Optical shops are also allowed to open from 7 am to 1 pm. No bus service will be allowed. Parks and public grounds will be closed.
