Udupi, Dec 19, 2016 : A Muslim youth who posed himself as a Hindu in a bid to befriend a girl was trapped by members of a Hindu outfit and handed over to the police on December 19, Sunday.
The arrested person has been identified as Sameer of Padukere. He is a bus conductor.
It has been gathered that Sameer came to know a girl from Honnavar who worked for an astrologer in Udupi, nearly six months ago. It is learnt he had fallen in love with her and approached her saying he was Rahul. Sources said he had even begun threatening the girl who had started talking to him solely out of fear.
On Sunday, Sameer who was reportedly taking the girl to his house at Padukere was caught by members of Hindu outfits who eventually handed him over to the police.
The girl in her complaint has accused Sameer of misbehaviour.
Brahmavar Police are investigating the case.
