Mangaluru, Oct 15, 2019: To celebrate world anaesthesia day the CPR awareness program was held in Justice K S Hegde Hospital on 15th October 2019. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure that combines chest compressions with ventilation in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further help arrives to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest which is recognized in a unconscious or unresponsive patient.
The competition was declared open by Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Dr. Alka Kulkarni, Registrar, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Dr. P S Prakash, Dean, K S Hegde Medical Academy presided over the function.
More than 60 people were participated and 3 prizes were awarded. Dr. Sripad G Mehandale, HOD, Dept. of Anesthesiology appreciated the involvement of common people in the contest, Dr. Gayathri Bhat, Professor & Coordinator of NU-MEDISIM conducted the program and Dr. Anand Bangera, Professor of Anesthesiology gave the vote of thanks.
