Lawyer assault case: Kadri inspector’s suspension order revoked

Mangaluru, Aug 12, 2015: It has been reliably gathered that the City Police Commissioner has revoked the suspension order of Kadri inspector TD Nagaraj and has appointed him as in-charge of Bajpe police station. The orders were said to have been issued on August 11, Tuesday.

TD Nagaraj It may be recalled here that Inspector Nagaraj was recently suspended by the commissioner after the Mangaluru Bar Association pressed for his suspension alleging that he had assaulted a lawyer who had approached the Kadri station along with a client. The lawyers had staged a flash protest outside the station and were vehement in their demand forcing the Commissioner to suspend the inspector on July 31.

The lawyer named Uttam Rai who was allegedly assaulted by the Inspector had filed a case against the inspector hurling several charges while the inspector too has filed a counter complaint.

Meanwhile, Chengappa, President of Mangaluru Bar Association has expressed his displeasure over the revoking of the suspension order of Nagaraj and his posting in Bajpe.
