Landslide at construction site at Farangipete; 3 feared dead

Mangaluru, July 14, 2015: A  landslide at a construction site at Farangipete on July 14, Tuesday leaves three labourers dead while efforts are on to rescue others who are still beneath the mounds of mud. A few other labourers suffered minor injuries in the mishap.

 

 

 

 

The mishap took place at a site where the construction of a commercial complex is underway. As the works were in progress, a hillock behind the site  caved in trapping the labourers beneath the heaps of mud. Local residents are assisting the fire service men in the rescue operations. It is said there were little chances of the survival of the trapped labourers.

Even District Superintendent of Police Sharanappa visited the spot.
