Although special counters have been set up at the DC’s office to help all these people, large crowds were seen around work tables. During the past 3 days, over 2,500 consumers have submitted their RR numbers. DC Channappa Gowda said that those who have submitted their electricity bills need not panic about their connection being disconnected; however, those who haven’t submitted their electricity bills will have their connections cancelled.

He also made it clear that consumers do not have to visit the DC’s office personally, adding that they can obtain the status of their LPG connection by sending an sms with KLVS followed by a space, the gas agency’s landline code, and landline number to 924335523. The details will be sent to the consumer.
Admitting that people who cannot operate computers will visit the DC’s office in person, he said that help will be provided to all these people. He also urged gas agencies to provide required information to the consumers and cooperate with them.

Regarding the difficulties faced by consumers, Additional DC Prabhakar Sharma said that the gas connections of several people at the DC’s office have also been suspended. He added that this is the only way to put an end to the problem of illegal connections.

Deputy Director of the Food and Civil Supplies Department Sharanabasappa said that people have 15 days to correct the problem, adding that there will be no immediate disconnections. He also said that only the government can decide whether or not to extend the deadline.
