Kundapur : Tension in Mavinakatte following raid on illegal slaughter house

Kundapur, Sep 25, 2015 : Tension prevailed at Mavinakatte in Gulvady village on September 25, Friday when two groups which gathered outside an illegal abattoir following a police raid, engaged in a heated exchange of words. The police had to finally resort to a mild lathi charge do disperse the mob.

Tension in Mavinakatte following raid on illegal slaughter house

Kundapur Police who acted on a tip off, raided the illegal slaughter house cattle flesh and a calf which was meant to be slaughtered. The man who was allegedly running this illegal slaughter house has been identified as Rashid alias Rishid. He however managed to escape during the raid.

It has been gathered that the police had received credible information that two cows were being slaughtered under the cover of trees behind the residence of Rashid. Sources said cattle were illegally slaughtered in this particular place since some time.
