In the process Kundapur SI Naseer Hussain and a constable named Raju sustained injuries. It is learnt the injured belonged to both the communities. All are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in a Kundapur.
It all began when a few youth of one particular community were chatting close by a petty shop near the Kinara Bar in Halavalli and another group of youth of another community who were passing by in a vehicle reportedly recorded a video in one of their cell phones and pointed fingers towards the group sitting near the shop. Infuriated by this the latter began to abuse the former.
Though the police rushed to the spot they could not control the situation immediately as one group barged into a house where a wedding was underway and resorted to stone pelting.
