Konkani movie ’Kazaar’ released

Mangalore, Nov 25: The Konkani movie “Kazaar” will be released on Nov 27, 2009 at Mangalore’s Adlabs and Udupi’s Alankar theatre.  National award winner Dr. Richard Castelino, who has directed this film, is optimistic that the movie with  captivating music would win the appreciation of  the Konkani-speaking people. 







The film has been approved by the Censor Board and Information Department. ‘Kazaar’, is a family based film which depicts the values of marriage, said Dr. Richard Castelino, director, while speaking to presspersons in the city on  Wednesday November 25.

Commenting on the late release of the movie, Dr. Castelino said several factors including the cricket matches that were underway in the recent past, delayed the early release of the film. Moreover, we wanted to release the movie in a good theatre, he said. 

Dr Castelino said the two hour long film has five  superhit songs.“Kazaar” is the debut movie of Larry Fernandes, son of the movie producer Frank Fernandes. The lead actress is Harshita Poonacha. Other co-artists including Mithesh, Savia, Larina, Reena, Vipin  hail from Mangalore. 

Wilfy Rebimbus and late Mickmax composed the lyrics. Wilfy Rebimbus and Ragdev have set the music. Vijay Bharathi is the music director. The playback singers are Radhika Menon, Hemanth, and Rony Crasta. 

The movie has been set in the beautiful areas of Chomakudru Madikeri, Mangalore airport, beaches of Goa, Dona Paula, Someshwar Beach, Karwar, Pilikula and Kings Cottage Madikeri, among other places.
