Konkan Railway adjusts train timings from Jan 26 to 29

Mangaluru, Jan 26,2017 : Doubling works at Jokatte and Panambur section (near Mangalore) will be carried out by Southern Railway from January 23 to 30, 2017. There will be non -interlocked (NI) working at Thokur station of Konkan Railway from 08:00 hours of January 26 to 08.00 hours January 29. As a result of non interlocked working, train number 22635/22636 Mangalore-Madgaon-Mangalore Intercity express will be cancelled for 3 days from January  26 to 28.

Also, train number 56665 Kasargod-Byndoor passenger train will be terminated at Mangalore junction and will return as train number 56666 passenger from Mangalore junction on January 27 to 29 January.

Train number 70105 Madgaon-Mangalore DEMU passengers will be terminated at Surathkal Station and will return as 70106 Passenger from Surathkal on January 27 and 28, 2017.

Train number 16515 Yashwantpur-Karwar Express on January 27 will be terminated at Mangalore junction and will return as 16516 express on January 28 from Mangalore Junction.

Train number 22475 Bikaner-Coimbatore AC Express on January 27 will be regulated for 45 minutes at Thokur station whereas train number 16524 Karwar-Bangalore Express on January 27 will be regulated for 45 minutes at Thokur station.

Introduce train, Kanyakumari to Mangaluru :
The Kanyakumari Rail Users’ Association has sought a direct overnight train between Mangaluru and Kanyakumari. It said that Kanyakumari, a world renowned tourism centre, does not have direct train connectivity with Mangaluru, another important tourism destination. Such a train could boost tourism in Southern Tamil Nadu as well as Coastal Karnataka.
