Since May 14, 2013, MUDA  had no president. After Ramesh S tendered resignation, Deputy Commissioner Prakash, ZP CEO Tulasi Maddineni and DC A B Ibrahim were serving as the administrators.

Chaiman Ibrahim assured he will discharge responsibilities with dedication.  He added that with the support of MUDA Commissioner and staff at MUDA, all work will be efficiently done. "I am confident of discharging my responsibility effectively." he said.

Appealing to Mangaluru residents, to have full trust in MUDA, he exorted that all citizens can contact him at any time.  He has been serving the Congress party for the last 45 years he recalled. While thanking KPCC president, Dr G Parameshwara, and ministers, MLAs and MLCs from the district for reposing confidence on him, he said his only aim is to work for the overall development of Mangaluru.

He has served as the Mandala Panchayat Pradhan, Ullal Block Congress President, DCC Vice President and DCC Secretary. He was serving as the DCC in charge President for the last two years.

MLC Ivan D’Souza said that all those who serve the party sincerely will be recognised in the party. "MUDA should take up good development works not only in the City Corporation limits but also in the out lying areas which come under MUDA jurisdiction."

MLA Mohiuddin Bava said as part of efforts to prevent traffic congestion on major thoroughfares, the MUDA should give priority to develop ring road.  MUDA should streamline systematically  the process of obtaining licenses.

MLA J R Lobo said Mangaluru is second fastest developing city in the state. There is a need to develop the city in a planned manner. First, MUDA needs to cater to the needs of the people. Pending projects need to be taken up without delays. New layouts need to be developed to provide sites to the poor and homeless at an affordable price. The land which is in the possession of  MUDA needs to be converted into sites to be distributed among people.

Mayor Mahabala Marla appealed to the newly appointed Chairman to solve the serious matter of  single site approval. The process of single-site approval followed MUDA was causing a lot of hurdles in the district where marginal landholdings are in numbers.
