Mangaluru, Jan 05, 2018: State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader while strongly condemning the murder of Deepak Rao at Katipalla has denied reports of having any link with the accused.
While urging the people against resorting to politics over such murders, Khader also denied having links with Ilyas, leader of Ullal’s notorious Target Gang. The clarification came after a picture of Ilyas seen seated on the same row as Khader while having food at a function, had gone viral. The picture gained prominence in the backdrop of the fact that Ilyas is said to be a close aide of Pinky Nawaz who is already behind bars in the Deepak murder case.
"Someone had clicked the picture and it is difficult to comprehend such things when we meet a large number of people who even click photos," said Khader. Reiterating that such allegations are politically motivated, Khader also recalled how similar allegations were made during the Zubair murder and requested public not to believe such claims.
On the demand for ban on communal outfits, Khader said they need to be banned at the national level as a mere ban in Karnataka would be of no use as these outfits will then operate from the neighbouring districts and states.
