Mangaluru, Jan 11, 2015: Police have arrested five persons in connection with the recent murder of Keshava Shetty of Soorinje, a garage owner and BJP Member. Those arrested are Lithesh (25) of Soorinje Kote, Shobi alias Shobharaj (23) of Madya, Yuvaraj alias Appu (23) of Delanthabettu, Krishna (19) of Kinnigoli Mennabettu and  Bharath (22) of Soorinje.

The accused were arrested at  Horanadu in Chikkamagaluru district where they were hiding. It is learnt after killig Keshav they had first fled to Moodbidri, then to Dharmasthala and from there to Horanadu. Meanwhile, police are on the lookout for the prime accused named Satish alias Sachu who is absconding, informed DCPs Santosh Babu and Vishnuvardhana who addressed a press meet at the City Police Commissioner’s office on January 10,  Saturday.

Keshav Shetty was murdered on January 6 at Soorinje Kote when he was  on way to play shuttle with Sampath V As usual.

DCP Santosh Babu informed that  as per the statement of the accused a financial dispute and previous enmity was the cause of the murder.

The deceased Keshav Shetty who owned the Carline garage at Kulai Hosabettu  had refused to  lend some cash to Satish alias Sachu when he demanded.  It is said Satish had threatened Keshav over this issue following which a complaint was lodged in Suratkal police station.   Satish was later arrested and since then he was nurturing a grudge against Keshav Shetty.

In the meantime, another accused Litesh too had waiting for the right time to avenge Keshav Shetty who refused to lend him money.Moreover Keshav had recently even been to the house of Litesh and had warned him of dire consequences right in front of his  mother and sister. Litesh who felt offended had joined hands with  Satish and others to  hatch a conspiracy to eliminate Keshav Shetty.

The arrests were made by a police team led by Suratkal Inspector MA Nataraj, SI Ravishanker police personnel  Krishna, Raja. Santosh and others under the guidance of North Division ACP Ravi Kumar.
