Mangaluru Oct 31, 2016: CCB Police have nabbed four more accused in connection with the robbery at the residence of  Kateel priest Vasudev Asranna on October 4th, informed Police Commissioner Chandra Shekar.

 The arrested have been identified as Bharath Shetty (30), a resident of Karkala, Mohammed Ali, (35) resident of Melkar, Purushottam (44) of Haleyangadi and Harish Gatti (41) of Ucchila.

 Addressing press persons at his office on Monday October 31, he said that earlier Police had nabbed five accused in connection with the dacoity case. The four arrested now have been absconding ever since the incident took place, the Commissioner said. 

Police have recovered 455 grams jewelry, one revolver, one pistol, 9 bullets, five mobile phones, one machete and breach loading gun with three bullets from their possession.

 It is said that the  prime accused Sudhindra who was debt-ridden had contacted Bharath Shetty and planned the robbery  so that he could  repay the loans. Bharath Shetty was  involved in several cases including Sulaiman murder case, the Commissioner said.

“This dacoity case had created tension and fear in the society. We were able to crack the case with the help of the victims and public,” he added.   Lizo and six others who executed the dacoity plan are still absconding and search is on. Police have so far arrested nine persons in this case.

The operation was carried out by DCP Shantharaju, Sanjeev M Patil, ACP Rajendra, Bajpe Police Inspector Nagaraj, CCB Inspector Sunil Nayak and other police personnel.
