Kasturirangan Report: Congress accountable for adverse results

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Aug 22,2015:  BJP  general secretary addressing a press conference August 21, Friday stated  that the Congress will be responsible if the recommendation of Kasturirangan Report is implemented in the district, causing a lot of problem to the people.

Kasturirangan Report: Congress accountable for adverse resultsEven after several warnings by the Central government, the State government has not conducted a geographical survey of the area and submitted a report.

The State leaders continue to claim that they have conveyed the opinions of the local residents to the Central government, but a formal report has not reached the Centre, yet. There is no information on a geographical survey too.

The official said that legislators K G Bopaiah and Appachu Ranjan have always struggled for the benefit of Kodagu in the Vidhan Sabha. During the BJP rule too, they had put pressure on the government and succeeded in getting an amendment in the Jamma rule implemented.

The BJP government had released Rs 1,800 crore to Kodagu and roads in the district were developed. The Congress government, in contrast, has been delaying the sanctioning of funds and contractors are in trouble. Officials of many government departments have not received their salary.

Congress leaders who criticise the legislator should look at the functioning style of the Member of Legislative Council T John, who is of their own party, said the general secretary. Let them check how many questions he has asked in the Legislature, how many KDP meetings he has attended and how many projects he has got sanctioned from his own party’s government.

Continuing on the issue, here was a discussion on problems of coffee planters in the Assembly, then MP H Vishwanath was absent. But, the BJP MP Sadananda Gowda attracted the attention of the government to the matter and a special package was released for coffee planters.  He assured that all attempts would be done to get a project on the Mysuru-Kushalnagar Railway track sanctioned.

Farmers who have lost their crops following heavy rains during the current monsoon did not get compensation from the State yet. Many farmers have suffered huge losses during the month of June, but they did not apply for compensation as they got nothing from the government last year. The State government has become dumb, deaf and blind; said district spokesperson for the party Subrahmanya Upadhyaya.
