Kasargod, Sep 09, 2020:    A   woman  who jumped into a well along with her two and a half year old daughter, has died, while the girl has been rescued by locals. The incident was reported from Madikai on September 8, Tuesday night.

The deceased woman is Beena, wife of Sudhaker. It is learnt, the woman all of a sudden had stepped out of her house along with her child and had jumped into the well which was about 30 feet deep.

The locals who managed to rescue the child however could not save the woman. By the time fire service personnel brought the woman out, she had died.

The reason behind the suicide is not known.

Neeleshwar police have registered a case.
