Kasargod: Police arrest three persons in connection with a loot case

Mangaluru: September 22, 2015: The Vidyanagar police on Tuesday arrested three persons for allegedly stealing money from a man amounting to Rs. 6 Lakh. The police have seized two cars that were used for the crime. However, two persons are still abounding.



The arrested people have been identified as Hamza (26) Arif (21) and Zinuddin (25).

The incident occurred on September 21, when Mukhtar (30) Meparmba resident was riding bike on Badiadka road. The gang of four persons came in a swift car and waylaid Mukhtar and robbed 6 lakhs rupees and escaped from the spot.

In a bid to escape with the loot, the thieves crashed their car into a bridge and the tryre got busted as a result the car could not move further. Soon two persons arrived at the spot in an Alto car to help the robbers.

The locals grew suspicious over their unusual behavior and questioned them. The three thieves escaped from there with the loot, locals caught the other three and handed over to the police.

The police have recovered Rs.89000 from the arrested persons.

It is learnt that the mastermind behind the robbery is Sadiq from Madikeri. He along with Vinu the other accused has escaped with the remaining loot. The investigation is on.
