Kasargod : Locals foil attempt to loot jewellery shop; trap duo

Kasargod, Mar 26, 2016: Local residents have succeeded in thwarting an attempt to rob a jewellery shop at Kottachery near Kanhangad by a three member gang after throwing chilly powder at the eyes of the shop owner on March 24, Thursday afternoon.

rob When the shop owner Nityananda Shenoy raised a cry, locals rushed to the spot and trapped two of the thieves, while the other person managed to escape.

Police have also seized a revolver and electric shocker from them. The accused are Babu Sahni (20) and Rahul Sharma (21).

Police have gathered information that there were a total of eight members in the gang and that they stayed in a nearby hotel. Search is underway for another person who had fled from the jewllery shop.

Think Kasargod has become the home town for theft and Robbery . They make their way from this destination i suppose. A wonderful job by locals.
