Kasargod : Denotified currency worth Rs 17 lakh seized from two cars at Manjeshwar

Kasargod, Sep 03, 2020:     Denotified currency notes of Rs 1,000 denomination and worth Rs 17 lakhs  were seized by the Manjeshwar  police from two cars.

 

 

 

Police who were on patrol duty on the Highway had  signalled three cars  to stop on suspicion. However, one of the cars  fled from the place while the cash was found in the other two cars.

If one car had demonetised notes worth Rs 12,89,000,  another car had   currency notes worth Rs 5 lakh. The suspicion is that  those  in the car that fled had come to collect the cash.

Further investigations are underway.
