Kasargod : BJP worker gets lifer in CPM activist murder case

Kasargod, Sep 12, 2020: BJP worker Sharathraj has been sentenced to life by the District Additional Sessions Court in connection with the case of murder of CPM worker P Murali (35) of Kumble. The convict Sharathraj has also been imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakhs. He will have to undergo an additional one year of imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine amount.
The fine amount will be given to the family of the slain CPM activist. The murder took place on October 27, 2014 near Seetangaoli. A gang had waylaid the auto in which Murali was travelling and had hacked him to death. Six other accused have been acquitted in the case.
