Karnataka Bank integrates its education loan scheme with Govt of India

Mangaluru, July 23, 2018: As part of its digital initiative, Karnataka Bank has integrated its education loan scheme/s with Vidya Lakshmi Portal of Government of India and has made available to public w.e.f today.
“Vidya Lakshmi Portal” is an initiative of Department of Financial Services, (Ministry of Finance), Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Human Resource Development) and Indian Banks Association (IBA) for students seeking Education Loan, wherein students can apply, view and track the status of their education loan application anytime, anywhere by accessing the portal. The portal has been developed and maintained by NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited.
Launching integration with the portal Shri Mahabaleshwara M S, Managing Director and CEO said “This is yet another pro-active step taken by the Bank in facilitating timely credit to the youth of the country in realizing their educational aspirations. In order to meet the educational needs of youth in today’s society, this portal will be a helping hand for faster accessing of credit. Bank will be coming out with such type of more initiatives in the days to come”.
