Further, he alleged that the hospital staff neglects labourers and does not give proper treatement. He also recalled how the labour ministry had suspended Superintendent Gopalkrishna for sexually harassing a woman employee, after which it appointed Dr. Ashok Kumar, who is also not doing anything for the development of the hospital. He, therefore, urged the department to suspend the superintendent and appoint a better officer.

He also told reporters that the hospital lacks required facilities, is short of doctors, and provides no service to those who hold the ESI card. He warned that the association will stage an indefinite hunger strike in front of the hospital till their demands are met.

Further, he said that the association has obtained a few government facilities, adding that the government has made certain promises, which it is yet to keep.

Sudatta Jain, the general secretary; District President Santhosh Kavoor; District General Secretary Raju Kulal; District Spokesperson Ramesh Rao, District Unit Secretary Nagesh Bantwal; City President Jalandar Shetty; Treasurer Girish Acharya; and Working President Harish Venoor were also present.
